WOMEN'S MISSIONARY SOCIETY
The Women's Missionary Society "Ambassadors for Christ", Building a Healthy and Healing Community from the inside Out.
OUR MISSION: To do God's Work. It takes a dedicated team to accomplish this mission. Therefore, we must work together. "Fulfilling Our Mission, God's work, God's will God's Way.
OUR VISION: To reach out and help the cause of missions abroad and at home, continue our involvement by mentoring the young, visiting the sick and shut-in, and helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
OUR HISTORY: The Women's Missionary Society is a merger of two older connectional Women's Missionary Organizations. The Women's Parent Mite Missionary Society (to aide the Church's efforts in Haiti) was organized in 1874. The Women's Home and Foreign Missionary Society was organized in 1896. For many years, the Women's parent Mite Missionary Society operated in the North and the Women's home and foreign Missionary Society operated in the South. In 1944 at the General Conference meeting in Philadelphia, PA, the two societies merged in the organization we have today and renamed the Florence V. Stansbury Women's Missionary Society. The two societies merged to aid the General Missionary Society in doing missionary work at home & abroad.

Deuteronomy 15:7. If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the Lord and God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut you hand from your poor brother. Verse 8 - But you shall open your hand wide to him and willingly lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs. Verse 11 - For the poor will never cease from the land: therefore I command you, saying, "you shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy in your land.
The Women's Missionary Society is truly blessed to have the resources to help those who are in need and to donate to missionary work at home and abroad. God is good all the time and we must be good to others.
The Women's Missionary Society meet at the Church on the first Thursday of each month at 6 P.M. New members are always welcome.
